As a child my Nana and Tata would take my sister and I to Filippi’s Pizza Grotto. It was a treat, we would go for our birthday, a graduation, any special event. I loved eating there then and I love eating there now. I take my friends there and I go there when I’m craving some comfort food. It’s one of the best pizza’s in town and it always brings me back to childhood and a sense of comfort.
The pizza is cheesy, the sauce is tasty and the crust is perfectly cooked. If you’re looking for something not so heavy, their ham and cheese sandwich or Torpedo sandwich will hit the spot. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu though. I’ve tried and tested it all in my lifetime so far.
On top of that, the front of the store is a market, if you’re looking for specific Italian ingredients, there is a good chance you will find them there.
If you are ever in Little Italy, stop in, you will not regret it.
